Formation Description

Hr has been a passion of mine long before I started studying the degree. In my first year I became the course representative of two degrees, Human Resource Management and Business Management & HR. I ensured that everyone on both courses felt heard and seen and became the person others depended on. Since then I was appointed as School representative for Work, Employment, Relations Department (WERD) which is the school specific for HR. I work closely with programme directors, heads of departments at the business school and other School representative. I found that almost every degree has it's own society where students feel safe to express concerns and are encouraged to join. All except HR. While it may be easy to join a management society it doesn't do HR students justice. What we need is a safe space to help find career opportunities specific to the sectors of HR. It would also help the students find recruitment companies within Leeds that may partner with the society.

By being a student ambassador, representing the degree and presenting at every open day I can safely say that prospective students of HR mention HR societies at other universities and when I mention that I am thinking of creating a society for HR they light up with such brilliant smiles!

I would love the opportunity to work with other students to create a society for the students of HR that no doubt will help the future graduates.

Thank you for your time and I really cannot wait to present this or answer further questions.
