Formation Description
We want to start this society because we understand how important cultural representation is and no student should feel as though they are not represented in spaces like university, and sharing cultures and embracing diversity is just as important. Therefore, whether you're a Nepalese student, local or international, or a student interested in Nepalese culture, everyone should feel welcomed.
We hope to provide the following benefits: increased diversity in student population; easier assimilation of international Nepalese students; and sharing of lesser-known cultures like ourselves. To achieve these benefits, we aim to provide the following opportunities: collaboration with other cultural societies; collaboration with Northern universities' Nepalese societies; implement mentor-mentee system; host socials such as Momo/Chatpate Nights (to share cultural food from Nepal) and Games Nights (to welcome students from different backgrounds to get together); and take part in events by Leeds University Union like World Unite Festival and Dance Show.
