Formation Description
For women, the winter months can be dark and dangerous; the fear of walking home alone can cause great distress and is universally felt by all. Especially throughout the area of Hyde Park and Headingley, where sexual assaults are a regular occurrence, something as simple as walking home alone can become overwhelming and restrictive. Because of this, my peers and I have decided to create safe network of young female students called ‘The Right to Walk’, with the aim of removing the loneliness and fear felt by many young women when walking home alone at night.
