The development of this idea started when three Taylor Swift fans came together and bonded over the lack of a Taylor Swift society at the University of Leeds. Taylor Swift societies have become increasingly popular and prevalent over the past two years at a wide range of different UK universities, and we all felt that if the lack of presence was sensed by us three, this would potentially be the case for many other University of Leeds students who are also Taylor Swift fans. Therefore, one of us decided to put a Facebook post on the ‘Leeds Student Group’ and decided to use the engagement on that post to gauge some indication of interest to see whether it would be viable to set one up. 

The post got just over 100 comments, with people saying they would either be interested in joining or offering to help to set one up and taking into consideration that this was a small sample size of Leeds University students on a Facebook group demonstrating their interest, we believe that this society could be popular once it is actually set up and promoted through the outlets provided and suggested by the appropriate agents dealing with the prospective formation of the society. 

Due to the aforementioned reasons and suggestions, this is why we have decided to come together and fill out this application.
