Formation Description
Our ambition is to build a vibrant, globally-minded network of future doctors who are inspired, informed, and empowered to pursue medical careers across borders. We want to make Leeds a place where every medical student, whether local or international, feels supported, connected, and part of a global medical community.
The Gap We Aim to Address
At Leeds, international students make up only a small portion of the medical school community. Many face unique challenges — from cultural adjustment and academic transition to a lack of belonging. At the same time, for UK-based students who hope to work overseas after graduating, the process can be daunting and complex, requiring extensive research into exams, licensing systems, and application processes. We want to address both of these challenges by creating a “home away from home” for international medical students while simplifying the pathway for those pursuing careers abroad. Our society aims to be a bridge — connecting students from diverse backgrounds and helping future doctors explore global opportunities in medicine with confidence and community.
