After spending our first year applying for work experience and vacation schemes we feel as though there is an inadequate amount of student support which focuses on developing the key employability skill of commercial awareness for applications and job interviews in competitive industries. Many students do not even know the meaning of the two words and that it is very relevant to them. Developing commercial awareness can be a daunting journey. The society would unite and encourage students to be consistent with developing their commercial awareness.

Our regular newsletters will not only encourage the understanding of developments within the business world but will provide advice from other students/industry professionals on how to be the ideal candidate for a company. We would provide them with an invaluable skill of how to approach news reading. We want to also give students the opportunity to be in responsible positions which would help them develop transferrable skills.

This society will be predominantly aimed at business/ economics and law students however we are open to all and would like to include articles from students across all degrees such as pharmaceutical, engineering providing updates on developments across as many industries as possible. We think our society would bring various degrees together which would provide a varied outlook.
