The idea:

Creating a society for Star Trek and Doctor Who fans.

The ambition of the society:

To create a space for Whovians and Trekkies to discuss their favourite shows and engage in fandom-based activities such as cosplay.

2-3 objectives of the society:

Our objectives include: To provide an opportunity for fans of both shows to meet/make friends over shared interests and fun activities.

Create a safe space for fans in the LGBTQ+ community, as both Doctor Who and Star Trek have a historically queer fanbase.

The types of activities we would like to run:

We have a range of activities planned- Predominately weekly episode viewings (two episodes, one for each show.) We would also do themed pub quizzes, cosplay competitions, gaming sessions (Doctor Who RPG, themed bingo, etc,) themed art sessions, presentations around topics such as LGBTQ+/feminism in both shows, and much more.

Your availability to attend a formation workshop/meeting:

We would be available to attend a meeting most times during the week (aside from Mondays and Thursdays,) if contacted to arrange this.

Anything else of interest or to consider:

This will be a society specifically focussed around Doctor Who and Star Trek rather than the wider sci-fi genre with a particular focus on episode screenings.

We have three people willing to take on the President, Secretary and Treasurer roles.
