Formation Description

We want to create a community of artists and art researchers, bringing our knowledge and experiences together, interconnecting these smaller communities of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies. We are aware there is already an Art soc, but this society differs in that it's a place for art practitioners to talk about their practice themselves, with a focus on more career driving experiences. Furthermore, we hope to cater towards a wider range of art media and also allow our school to have its own student community involving life drawing, which many students struggle to have access to with Art soc. Some of our initial thoughts regarding opportunities include: Life drawing, specialised industry talks, wellbeing as artists, sustainability practices and awareness, and sharing of knowledge.
