Formation Description

We believe that a good quality engineers should have a scope of knowledge that expands above their field of study - they should have broad horizons to find novel approaches to complicated problems. We feel that there is a lack of an academic community that would merge people from different branches of STEM sciences. As mentioned in the previous question, we would like to achieve that by many different means. We would focus on delivering the guest lectures to members, organising factory tours and visiting the conventions. Some societies offer similar activities by employing an "academic representatives", but on a much smaller scale. We would like to allow students of the University of Leeds to be attractive to employers, by broadening their skills and improving their CV. We were also planning on rewarding the students that reached the attendance benchmark (eg. 80%) with a diploma, prizes and reference letters.
