Formation Description
The Plan
Here’s what we want to do to make this a reality:
1. A Podcast/Interview Series: I’ve always wanted to start a podcast, and this club is the perfect platform. Instead of just reaching out to professionals for advice, why not ask them to share their insights in a podcast interview? That way, they’re not just helping one student—they’re helping hundreds. Plus, it’s a win-win for everyone involved: they get exposure, and we get their valuable knowledge.
2. Affordable Marketing Conferences and Workshops: We want to create a 2-3 day marketing festival at our university. Imagine a TEDx-style event where we bring in guest speakers from the marketing world to talk about topics that matter—branding, digital strategy, analytics, and more. And here’s the best part: affordable tickets for students! We’ll work with sponsors and local businesses to keep costs low, so no one has to choose between groceries and opportunities.

3. Real Networking Opportunities: We’ll host monthly networking events, where students can connect with industry professionals in a more relaxed, accessible setting. It won’t be just about shaking hands—it’ll be about building real relationships.
4. Partnerships for Internships: One of the biggest struggles we face is getting hands-on experience. This club will actively collaborate with companies and startups to create internships and part-time roles for students. We’ll help students get in front of industry leaders in a way that works for everyone.
5. Workshops on Effective Networking: Networking isn’t just about showing up—it’s about how you approach it. We’ll hold workshops on the art of outreach—how to ask the right questions, how to make meaningful connections, and how to use platforms like LinkedIn to our advantage.
Why This Will Work
The University of Leeds is a respected name, and that gives us a leg up when reaching out to industry professionals. By using the university’s backing, the chances of professionals saying “yes” to interviews or events skyrockets. They’ll want to be a part of something bigger than just one-on-one mentorship—they’ll want to contribute to a community of passionate marketers.
The Outcome we are Fighting For
• More opportunities: Students will have regular access to industry professionals, internships, and networking events without feeling overwhelmed or financially burdened.
• Affordable access to industry knowledge: Students won’t have to choose between attending a life-changing event and paying rent. We’ll keep prices low and make sure that everyone has a shot at learning from the best.
• Real, meaningful connections: We’ll build a marketing community that thrives on collaboration, where students support one another and help each other grow.
• Hands-on experience: Internships and part-time roles will give us the chance to apply what we learn in the classroom to real-world situations.
This is my passion project—a club that will not only help me but every student struggling to find their way in this competitive world. We know it won’t be easy, but we truly believe that with the right support, this club can make a huge difference for marketing students at the University of Leeds.
we are ready to take this idea forward and would love any feedback, guidance, or support to make this happen. Let’s create something incredible together
