Formation Description

Cras Domus translates to ‘Tomorrow House’ or Home of 'Tomorrow'. We believe that tomorrow is created today by people collaborating and dreaming big. We want to create a space for this to be developed.

One of the best times to start a business or creative initiative is at university. The risks that come with failure are lowered and there is an increased opportunity to meet like minded people in similar life stages. But, starting university in 2020 was a very isolating time. Before Imisi, Louis and I met, we struggled to find people that had similar ambitions to collaborate with. When we met, we discussed these concerns with each other and reached out to other students who also found it hard to create in isolation. So, we decided to look for existing entrepreneurial communities in Leeds. We could not find anywhere that actively encouraged collaboration and creativity.

The three of us decided to create a society that focuses on learning by creating. Since Leeds is the fastest growing city in the UK, we are in a unique position with the many opportunities to create. Our society can grow into a collaborative space where students can share, discuss and build businesses of tomorrow.

We are equipped to lead such a society as we have developed initiatives of our own and are passionate about purposeful collaboration. Someone expressing interest in the concept has been the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Asghar Khan. Following discussions we have been given contacts and exciting opportunities for the future of Cras Domus.
