Formation Description
I want to start this society because It's focused on helping students from underrepresented backgrounds (BAME, first in the family to go to university etc.) to gain access to law firms through networking with different lawyers who came from similar positions, as well as lawyers who support diversity and inclusion. Opening this society will help students increase their chances of getting training contracts with magic circle/international law firms, as students will be provided with CV/application tips (from solicitors and barristers), and commercial awareness briefings through weekly instagram posts. There will also be a few 'law firm/barrister chamber collaboration events'. This society will also help underrepresented students feel supported and included through the help offered, as there has been a stigma that students from non-traditional backgrounds are often secluded in the legal field.
