Leeds has an incredible amount of sports societies however it is clearly missing roundnet. It is an immensely fun sport, its non discriminatory, in the sense there is no need to have had prior training or practice and it is also very social. Due to its Social and accessible nature, we're hoping to grow quickly as a society which will lead to more students taking part in sports on campus. Of course this is beneficial physically but also is incredibly healthy for students' mental health. University can be very stressful at times and spikeball offers a fun, active and social atmosphere that is important. I have already accumulated a group chat of upwards of 30 people that are all very interested by the sport. We try play once a week however if we became an official society the aim would be to have training sessions and social play at least 3 times a week. I have been in contact with somebody that works for British roundnet and have emailed the official spikeball company about arranging tournaments with other Universities and clubs in the UK that would only create more opportunities for the society members.
