Apart from the obvious fact that I adore post punk music and everything it involves, I have already met so many like-minded people in Leeds that appreciate this whole sub-genre of music, but believe there isn't a society or a place they can easily meet people with the same music taste, and attend gigs together. Personally, I have attended over 100 gigs all over Nottingham and Leeds, I have a great insight into venues and promoters I could approach and ask for discounted tickets, and I also have great insight into events and gigs that would appeal to the target demographic of the society. Furthermore, I DJ in various venues around Leeds so have connections with event organizers to make sure every social is affordable, and very enjoyable. The main focus of this society is  to meet people with the same interest in music, and especially with this sub genre, I find people are more inclined to retain friendships because generally post- punk music lovers prioritise music in their lives, and gravitate towards those who share this interest. This strain of music, furthermore, is extremely prominent in Leeds and almost every huge post punk artist tours here, some examples of even just the next month include: Cola at Brudenell Social club on the 19th November, Sports team at the Wardrobe on the 23rd November, Pip Blom at The Wardrobe on the 3rd December, Bad Nerves at the Key Club on the 18th December, and so on. These venues would also all be ones I would approach and, from previous experience, have been easy to approach in the past. I also have a few people in mind committee wise that are very experienced and responsible, and would help me organize socials because they are also very passionate about this genre of music.
