As part of the World Unite Festival, BWP will be hosting a waistbead making event!

Waistbeads have traditionally been worn by African women for centuries therefore, this event is not only a good way to learn a new skill but is also an opportunity to learn more about African culture and connect with other black women.

The event will compromise of a waistbead making session, quiz with a prize for the winner and African and Carribean snacks. We also encourage everyone to "rep their flag" or wear any traditional clothing to celebrate the diversity of black women at Leeds!
