On the 11th November, English Society will be making a festive visit Chatsworth House in Derbyshire for the day! We will have the chance to explore the beautiful historic gardens, magical Christmas displays inside of the main historic house, and Chatsworth’s Christmas market! 

Aside from the Christmas displays and events taking place, Chatsworth itself is a beautiful historic estate, with beautiful paintings, architecture, and sculptures. The estate was also one of the filming locations for the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice, so Austen fans won’t want to miss out!

Itinerary for the day:

8.30am the group will meet by the Parkinson steps, and at 9.45 the coach will arrive to pick us up!

9am the coach will leave for Chatsworth

At approximately 10.30-11am we will arrive at Chatsworth, and the group will have the opportunity to begin exploring the grounds. 

At around 12.25, the group will meet back together, ready for our entry time into the house!

At 12.45, the group will enter the house to explore the beautiful Christmas at Chatsworth displays, Elizabethan artwork, grand libraries, and the building’s rich history!

After, the group will be able to enjoy lunch in the cafés, or picnic with their own food.

The rest of the day will provide the group with the opportunity to explore the beautiful gardens and grounds, as well as the magical Christmas market!

The group will meet at 4.30pm, and the coach will pick us up at 5pm. 

We will arrive back in Leeds, at the Parkinson steps, at approximately 6.30-7pm, dependent on traffic.

English society members and non-members are welcome on the trip, however please buy a member ticket if you are a member of the English Society, and a non-member ticket if you are not a member! 

Please DO NOT purchase a committee ticket if you are not on the English Society committee! Any committee tickets purchased by those not on committee will unfortunately NOT be valid for the trip and will have to be refunded!
