Venue Smelt Mill Cottages, Trough Road, Clitheroe, 3BH, Dunsop Bridge
Starts Fri 24 Apr 12:00AM
End Sun 26 Apr 12:00AM

Event Description

Come join us for our Term 2 weekend away with Mountain Rescue! This will be jointly run by Leeds Student Community First Responders and Wilderness Medicine Society (and maybe some other societies will join us depending on numbers)

We will be heading to Smelt Mill Cottages in Lancashire between 24th and 26th April 2026. We’ll be leaving on Friday evening (time tbc) and will be back on Sunday evening. Transport will be provided. We’ll be staying with Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team, who’ll be running teaching and activities - featuring everything from talks with MR team members, rescuing simulated casualties out on the moors,  evening games, socials, and an optional Sunday hike! It is always a great weekend with the team!

Keep an eye out on our socials/Engage for ticket release dates. If you are a DRIVER and would be happy to drive yourself and others to the trip, please contact your relevant Committee (depending on which society you belong to) as we can give you access to DRIVER PRIORITY EARLY RELEASE TICKETS!

CFR members:
As this is primarily a CFR run event, and all CFR tickets will be free. If you are a CFR driver you will be able to expense your fuel costs. If you are a member of CFR (but are not a member on Engage - i.e. you never got your free membership) you will need to let Cam or Rory know via hello@lscfr.org or text. New memberships are currently not-open to stop random people joining the society who have not gone through interview/YAS training.

Non-CFR Members:
Ticket costs are still being worked out, these will be released soon. The ticket covers accommodation, activities, 3 meals on Saturday, 2 meals on Sunday as well as lots of biscuits and teas/coffees.

*Please note this is a physical weekend with lots of time spent outdoors regardless of the weather. You will need waterproof trousers, waterproof coats and proper hiking boots*

Admin:
Once you’ve bought your ticket, you must fill out the Google Form immediately. We cannot take you without this. Link to Google Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSejZ5w2Xay8_rDBajbhxutiocHSvvo54OYoQjCq0P8SZXPmIQ/viewform?usp=publish-editor
