Black History Month 2026: Our History, Our Culture, Our Future.
Friday 30 October | 10am–4pm | LUU Precinct
We’re bringing Black History Month 2026 to a close with our biggest Culture Friday yet.
Join us for food, live DJs, student performances, society activities, cultural stalls and more. Drop in anytime from 10am–4pm and celebrate with us.
Across the day, expect:
• Food vendors bringing a mix of African and Caribbean flavours to the Precinct
• A resident live DJ and music throughout the day
• Live student performances
• Salsa and dance activity
• Acoustic performances and live guitar
• Performances and activities from student societies
• Society stalls where you can meet groups from across the University
• The Spirit of Teranga by Rohie N’Dow, showcasing African textiles, clothing, books, crafts and artisan products
• BLW Leeds’ bake sale, raising money for the Black History, Brighter Futures campaign
• More performances and activities being announced as we get closer to the day
Whether you’re stopping by between lectures, coming for lunch, supporting a friend performing or staying for the atmosphere, everyone is welcome.
Come for the food. Stay for the music. Celebrate the culture.
