Uncovering AI's Hidden Gender BIAS: Learn to write better prompts
AI is changing the world, but it often inherits our oldest biases. It is time to challenge that behaviour.
Join us for a highly interactive workshop where we put popular AI tools to the test. We are going to actively hunt down hidden gender bias in AI outputs and learn to write better prompts to fix them.
What You Will Do:
Bias Stress-Test: Work in small groups to expose how AI handles gender in everyday scenarios, such as drafting professional emails.
The solution: Prompt Engineering: Learn how to effectively structure prompts (the instructions you give to an AI), forcing the AI to drop any default assumptions and produce high-quality responses.
Why Attend?
Gain hands-on, highly employable skills in Prompt Engineering.
Develop a critical eye for auditing AI and understanding algorithmic bias.
Connect with fellow students who are passionate about building an inclusive future in tech.
Who is this for? Everyone! Whether you are a computer science student or studying a completely non-technical degree, this event is designed for you. No coding experience is required.
What to bring: Just yourself and a laptop!
This event is in collaboration between the Leeds Artificial Intelligence Society and the Women in Engineering Society.
