This is a work experience opportunity with the orthopaedic branch of Johnson & Johnson MedTech (soon to become DePuy Synthes). DePuy Synthes started in Leeds and was revolutionary in hip replacement constructs. Now they have become a worldwide innovator in Orthopaedics across joint replacements, trauma, sports injuries, spine and more. The experience will run for two days (24th-25th March) and will include a group activity and presentations to on site staff, tours of the site and labs, networking opportunities and more!
 

Open to all specialties but please be aware this is an engineering site with business, marketing, clinical research, regulatory, lab and manufacturing resources on site. Please indicate your specific interests through the application so we can ensure there is something for everyone that attends!!
Event Details

• Dates: Tuesday, 24th March – Wednesday, 25th March 2026 (09:30-16:00 both days)
• Location: DePuy Synthes, St Anthony's Road, Beeston, Leeds
• Transport: TBC - there is the number 24 bus service to Beeston terminus, a 5 minute walk from the DePuy Synthes site. The committee will either organise transport or organise to meet at Beeston terminus for 09:30am. 

 Important Attendance & Logistics

• Mandatory Commitment: This is a two-day program. Please only apply if you are available to attend both full days.
• Catering: Lunch will be provided by the company for all participants on both days.

Application Process & Selection

• Status: Completion of this form is an application only and does not guarantee a placement.
• Applications (January 14th - February 9th) 
• MedTech members will be considered first but are not promised a place purely on membership status - the quality of application will also be assessed.
• Be aware we may close applications early based on demand.
• Outcome Notification: All applicants will be notified of their status via email no later than February 16th.
• Confirmation: Selected candidates must confirm their spot by responding to the email within 4 working days, or the spot will be offered to another candidate. Please keep an eye on your emails around this date.
