Join us for our first weekend trip of the academic year to Bassenthwaite!

We will meet by 5pm in front of the School of English on Friday 9th October, where we will split up into cars and vans to drive up to the Lake District. Transport, accommodation, breakfast and an evening meal (except the night you arrive on and leave the trip) are included in your ticket. We will be staying at the Bassenthwaite Village Hall (https://bassenthwaite.org.uk/).

Each day, we will split into groups and go on routes of varying length, elevation and technicality. You will be walking in an area of outstanding natural beauty, home to some incredible hills and Wainwrights, including England's 4th highest mountain Skiddaw!

We want to make Weekend Trips as easy as possible for you, but due to safety, some equipment is required. A kit list can be found here https://luuhc.com/gear/weekend-trips. Please follow it! Need some inspiration for what food to pack? See the ‘Getting Outside’ FAQ section of our website at https://luuhc.com/faq#Getting-outside. For this trip you will need a sleeping bag and sleeping mat. The club does have limited gear that members can borrow - if you’d like to borrow gear for this trip please email our Gear Secretary through luuhc.gear@gmail.com.

Before the trip, you will receive an email with more up-to-date details.
