We are very excited to announce our second weekend away to the beautiful Borrowdale Valley in the Lake District!

This is sure to be an awesome weekend packed with hiking and exciting wilderness scenarios using all our new kit!

Where: Borrowdale, Lake District. Staying in a cosy little camping barn near the village of Rosthwaite. 

When: leaving Leeds 6pm on Friday 26th April, returning to Leeds around 8pm on Sunday 28th April.

Cost: £45pp which includes transport, accommodation, breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday and Saturday evening meal (plus lots to tea and snacks!)

Kit required: the weather in the Lakes can be unpredictable, and even in mid April it can snow! It is therefore really important to have everything on the kit list to avoid becoming a wilderness medicine casualty yourself! If you don't have any kit, ask around your friends or drop us a message and we may be able to help source something to borrow!

• Warm clothing for hiking and a spare pair of everything 
• Clothing for sunny weather (shorts, sunglasses)
• Warm hat and gloves 
• Waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers 
• Clothes for travelling/ the bunkhouse 
• Sturdy hiking footwear - boots or walking shoes preferable (no pumps, converse, trainers with poor grip)
• Water bottles, 1L minimum
• Tupperware for lunch 
• Rucksack 
• Black bin bag (or dry bags if you have them)
• Personal wash-kit and towel 
• Suncream
• Headtorch (if you have one)
• Sleeping bag and pillow for the bunkhouse 

There will be a mandatory kit check of footwear and waterproofs on the evening of Tuesday 23rd April, details will be sent once you've purchased a ticket. Please let committee know if you can't attend and we will arrange a video call to check kit. 

Details about departure time and location will be emailed to the address linked to your LUU engage account the week before the trip/ discussed at the kit check meeting.
