Celebrate, Amplify, Advocate!

Come chat to us on our stand in the foyer for Wu Fest on the 19th November 1-3pm to learn more about the new Liberation Student Committee (LSC) and sign up to the networks you identify with!

This will be an opportunity for you to:

• Meet some of our LSC members
• Sign up to the networks that you identify with
• Learn how to get involved with LSC
• How to apply to become an LSC network lead as we are still missing some reps!
• Sign up to our Reclaim the Night Events

The Liberation Student Committee has been set up so that we move beyond simply celebrating liberation groups during awareness weeks and history months by focusing on advocacy work to create tangible positive change for minoritised students. The LSC is a collaborative, intersectional group of students who will work together this year as volunteer network leads representing the student voice for the liberation group that they identify with. LSC leads will build their student networks and collaborate to design and deliver campaigns and events for this academic year! 

The Liberation Groups Networks in the LSC are:

• Asian
• Black 
• Women
• LGBTQ+
• Trans
• Working Class
• Disabled 
• (Ally)

Applications are now reopen to find network leads for the liberation groups that we are lacking representation from (Black, Disabled, LGBTQ+, Working Class and Trans). It is an open application too, so if you want to set up a network that's not on that list, such as student-parent and neurodiverse, then you can also apply! 

The stand will also be an opportunity to sign up to our banner making workshop and reclaim the night march in Leeds!
