Join us on 27th September as we hold our first Give-It-A-Go, THE event to get yourself involved with the Motorsport Society. Whether you've never karted before or you're a seasoned veteran, this is the place to be.

Your ticket for the event will include 30 minutes of driving broken up into 2 sessions:

• 15 minutes of practice and qualifying, where you get to know the track and set your fastest time against 15 others, which determines your starting position for the race
• Followed by a 15-minute (approx. 16-lap) race, battling for positions!

Transport to TeamSport Leeds is included in the form of a coach from the Parkinson Building to the track, and back afterwards. With tickets at just £31 you will not find more affordable racing anywhere else!

This event does not require a membership and is purely in place to give you a taste of racing and the society to find out if we are the right fit for you. If you do enjoy your time, then membership costs just £35, giving you access to purchase tickets for all our future events throughout this academic year. This includes our internal karting championships known as Tour de Yorkshire, as well as countless other special events throughout the year.

It's also worth noting that if you have your eyes set on competing nationally for Leeds at the British University Karting Championships (BUKC), this is your first chance to impress!

All that we need from you is the following:

• To purchase a ticket for the event.
• Turn up at the bottom of the Parkinson Building Steps at 15:00.
• Wear (or bring) appropriate clothing (No open-toed footwear or scarves to be worn on track). 
  All other kit like gloves, racing suit and helmet will all be provided for you.
  Balaclavas are included with your ticket.
• Finally, have fun and enjoy meeting new people with similar passions to yourselves.

We hope to see as many of you at the event as possible, for some fast-paced, action packed fun!

Refund Policy

If you wish to have a refund, then you must contact a member of the committee stating so. This must be done with AT LEAST 48 HOURS notice prior to the event's starting time. If these conditions are not met, we cannot guarantee a refund. By purchasing this ticket, you are accepting these conditions.

This event is for people new to the society.
This is not for previous members who have raced in our TdY series before.
Any previous members who buy a ticket without contacting a committee member beforehand will not race.
