SATURDAY 10th OCTOBER

Hello Wildlings!

We know you’ve all been waiting with bated breath for the details of our 2026 GIAGs… well, fret no longer, all is revealed below!

This autumn, we’ll be running 2 GIAGs – across the beautiful countryside of Saltaire, just a stone’s throw from Leeds. We will be running some medical teaching whilst on route (think mountain first-aid and a couple of role-play scenarios) and will hopefully relax with a pint or a J2O at the pub at the end. As we will be running the same event twice (Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October), please ONLY BOOK A TICKET FOR ONE GIAG.

The details:

·       We will be catching the 9:25am train to Saltaire. We recommend that you get an off-peak open return which should cost £4.65 with a railcard. We need everyone at the station at 8:55 am – yes, it’s a Saturday, and yes, we appreciate it’s early, but we need to check kit and forms and make sure we don’t leave anyone behind! If you are meeting us in Saltaire, head to the station carpark for 9:40 am (please drop us a message to let us know you’re meeting us there)

·       The hike will be approximately 7-8km. It will be muddy. You must wear either hiking boots or sturdy trainers (no flat-soled pumps etc), and we will turn you away if you don’t have the right footwear. It ensures everyone’s safety. Please see the below kit list for the rest of the kit.

·       You MUST fill in the Google form as soon as you’ve bought your free ticket on Engage. We cannot take you without it.

Tickets will go live at 7pm on Thursday 1st October - we recommend getting them fast as they’ve previously gone in minutes! Please check you’ve got a ticket for the right date. If you are an experienced Wildling, please don’t book a ticket for this GIAG - this is for all our new faces!

Kit list:

·       Train ticket (off-peak day return recommended)

·       Walking shoes/boots with good grip (no pumps, sliders or flat-soled trainers)

·       Warm clothing (including hat and gloves)

·       Waterproof jacket (essential as we will be hiking whatever the weather!)

·       Lunch and water (at least 1L)

·       Money/card and ID for tea/coffee/beer after the hike

·       Any medications or inhalers that you require

If you have any questions, get in touch with via Instagram or email us wildernessmedicine@luu.group.

Looking forward to meeting you all!  :)
