What is Sexpression? 

Sexpression UK is a near-peer independent charity with the goal of empowering young people to make decisions about relationships and sex by running informal and comprehensive RSHE (relationship and sexual health education) in the community. Students who volunteer with Sexpression receive training to deliver RSHE in schools, and take-part in on-campus events to raise awareness of sexual health.

What is a volunteering GIAG? 

The volunteering give-it-a-go is a drop-in session for you to find out more about the society, meet likeminded people, and decide whether you would like to get involved. 

As a volunteer you might initiate activities to break the ice with students and make RSHE more engaging and memorable, so we will have some different activities you can try out, such as: ‘A-Z’ of sex, sexy pictionary, relationship scenarios, STI scenarios, and condom demonstrations. 

Benefits of volunteering: 

• Develop communication, public speaking and leadership skills by gaining experience in explaining sensitive topics in a clear, respectful and approachable manner. 
• Knowledge and confidence: Volunteering deepens your understanding of sexual health, relationships, and wellbeing which is useful both personally and academically. 
• Get involved with sexual health campaigning, and collaborate with other university societies.
• Be apart of a national charity, make professional connections, and meet like-minded individuals who care about RSHE as much as you do!
• Make a positive impact by empowering students to make informed decisions about their health and relationships.
• Transferrable skills such as teaching and communication useful in many careers e.g. health, education and social work.
• Great to add to your CV :)
