Get ready for the BEST and BIGGEST kayaking event of the year!!!

Leeds are making a long awaited return to the annual Paddle-Fest hosted along the river Tyne in Hexham. Unfortunately this means we will have to make our way up towards Newcastle but the good news is that we will be well out of the city limits, with a few pubs nearby and good company to soften the sting.

There will be two days of paddling, coaching, day time activities followed by a night of dancing, all abilities are welcome! We will not be doing this alone as a bunch of other universities travel in to enjoy the fun and get up to mischief with us. This is well worth it.

The itinerary is as follows: 

Friday 3rd November
17:00 Check-in Opens, register at the Info Point
Saturday 4th November

10:00 Club paddle on North and South Tyne

 
18:30 Hexham Roundtable Bonfire & Firework Display in Hexham Town Centre

19:30 Marquee

Sunday 5th November

Club paddle on the Tees 

We will be camping but will have access to the toilets and showers in Hexham Leisure centre.

Kit List:

• Old trainers/ shoes you don't mind getting wet.
• Thermals and jumper for on the water (non cotton).
• Towels.
• Pair of shoes to be worn dry on land.
• Spare socks and underwear.
• Waterproof coat/jacket.
• Toiletries.
• Flip flops for the shower.
• Lots of warm clothes to change into. We will be outside a lot.
• Food and snacks. Soup + roll will be provided on Saturday only. There will be stalls, restaurants, pubs and shops (Waitrose) close by.
• Water bottle
• Big bag for wet kit (IKEA bags are great!).
• Tent. Please let us know if you have a tent and are happy to share.
• Sleeping bag.
• Roll mat (Very important as the floor will such the heat out of your body through your sleeping bag).

The cost includes full kit rental, transport and coaching.

We will be meeting on Thursday 2nd Nov in the chapel to do a kit drop off and sort out boats and wet kit before we leave the next day!!
