Matlock Bath and Heights of Abraham Trip 11/10/2026
Matlock Bath is well-known as a classic British seaside town. It has attracted visitors since the 17th century, including the famous poet Lord Byron, who nicknamed it 'Little Switzerland' on account of its wooded hillsides and magnificent views. These days, you can visit its amusement arcades, acquire some delicious fish and chips, or browse the quirky shops on the high street.
As part of the visit, you will be able to ride a cable car up to the Heights of Abraham. This historic hilltop park has several exhibitions, including tours of two underground caverns, Great Masson Cavern and Great Rutland. There are also some magnificent views of the Peak District.
Should you choose to join us, we will meet at the Parkinson Building steps at 8:15am to depart at 8:30am. We aim to arrive at Matlock Bath by 10.00am, dependant upon traffic. This trip is not guided, so you are free to explore independently. We will board the coach again at 4.45pm, to arrive back in Leeds at approximately 6:40 pm, dependant upon traffic.
Your ticket includes transport to and from Matlock Bath, as well as cable car transport up to the Heights of Abraham and access to the exhibitions at this location.
