"Being social media sec has allowed me to re-engage with my creativity. I find creating the posts for the instagram so therapeutic and valuable! It has taught me really important graphic design and marketing skills (which I thought I would never learn) in a really fun way. Chatting to members across platforms is a great joy of mine as the accessibility and marketing of the society is in my hands. Making tiktoks is a great way of makreting the society in an exciting way.
As social media sec, my main role is engagement with philsoc's digital presence, managing conversations with members, non-members, alumni and/or other societies. I create posts for the society's instagram and tiktok and manage the ‘announcements’ tab on whatsapp.
Overall it has built my confidence massively and allowed me to pursue a long forgotten love of unleashing my creative spirit. I would confidently say it's the best job on the committee as you get to have the most fun establishing philsoc's digital presence and interacting with members."
