Hi everyone! I’m Mohamed, but you probably know me as Mo, and I am running for Treasurer of the Handball Society for 2026/2027.

Handball has always been a big part of my life as I’ve been playing since I was 6. When I left Cairo for university in Leeds, I thought I would never get to play Handball again as the sport is not popular in the UK. Luckily, I was given the chance to continue playing through this society. I’m very thankful for the society and passionate about it (as you may have seen before in games :) ) and because of this, I want to give back to the Handball Society by taking on responsibility off the court.

Let’s get serious – what value will I bring to this role?

I am currently a second year student studying International Business and Finance having taken multiple accounting and finance modules. Furthermore, I completed an internship as a Financial Analyst at Crédit Agricole Egypt, where I developed strong skills in financial analysis and accuracy. I believe this puts me in a strong position to manage the society’s finances responsibly.

In addition to this, I gained valuable experience last year organising and managing the Egyptian Society’s football team. I was tasked with handling logistics such as team coordination and kit purchases whilst making sure resources were used effectively for the benefit of the team.

As Treasurer, I will keep accurate and organised financial records, I will ensure prices are fair, and I will organise and cover expenses efficiently. I will also bring forward creative and practical ideas to make the most out of the society’s budget.

I am confident and not afraid to take responsibility. I would love to have the opportunity to contribute more to the society beyond just playing.

Hi, i'm Sacha and i'm applying for committee as I believe I am one of the most committed players (and social member) of Handball, playing in all matches this year for the mens squad as well as only missing two socials (slept through them). I'd be a great addition to this society because of my commitment to seeing both the mens and the women's squad side succeed, whether it be on or off the court. Role specifically, I am currently taking PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics), so my experience in both mathematics and economics would be heavily applicable within the role of treasurer to ensure that your money is well managed and placed.
