I’m putting myself forward for Secretary for the 2026/27 season as someone who’s been part of the club for the past two years and genuinely cares about it. Being involved this long has given me a good understanding of how things run, and I want to step up and help keep everything organised behind the scenes. I’m reliable and detail-oriented, and I’m committed to stay on top of key responsibilities making sure nothing gets missed.

I also want to bring a bit more energy to the role by helping the society grow through sponsorships and connections with student ambassadors and brands. I’m ready to put in the time this role requires and work closely with the rest of the committee to make sure everything runs smoothly. Overall, I just want to play my part in making next season as successful and enjoyable as possible for everyone involved.

Hi, my name is Léon, and I’m excited to be running for Secretary this year. Being a part of the handball society has been the highlight of my past 2 years at uni and I’m hoping to be able to return some of the joy that it’s given me back into the society and to its members.

Since joining in first year, I’ve become obsessed with the sport of handball, attending both the university and Leeds City trainings each week. I’ve always felt very welcome and involved with the team and I will ensure every member feels equally as valued and included next year.

I am very organised and have good attention to detail, which can be useful for a role that involves writing constitutions, certifications and risk assessments. Through previous work experience, I have developed strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, and I enjoy interacting and collaborating with others.

As Secretary I will maintain clear and consistent communication with committee members and other handball members - both in person and via group chats etc. I will also proactively support the President and Vice President with trainings and admin work, helping to keep everything running smoothly.

I’m always happy to help and will ensure that I do the best I possibly can for each member of the society.
