Hi everyone! I'm Siobe a second year Ancient History and History student! I have really enjoyed my time in LSTV so far and I want to be your next Head of Culture :) I'd love to make content related to heritage to celebrate Leeds and the student body. Whether it's a bustling market or a tranquil visit to a local landmark, almost anything can be covered by culture!!

WHO AM I?
Hello all! I am Chloe, the current Co-Head of News, and I am here as you’ve probably guessed, running for the role of Head of Culture. LSTV has taken me on a whirlwind of a rollercoaster over the past year and I would love the opportunity to return next year as your Head of Culture. My previous experience through the role of Co-Head of News has allowed me to gain experience in all aspects of TV, in editing, presenting, filming, and producing. Additionally, I have also been producing and co-presenting a radio show on LSR called ‘Hear Me Out’ which discusses many topical issues, which will act as valuable experience throughout the role of Head of Culture. My experience of producing videos for LSTV and within my degree will certainly be of asset, but as always, I look forward to learning more from the team at LSTV. As Head of Culture, I will be a real hands on and a take action committee member, by organising fun videos to create.
A TASTE OF WHAT I’LL DO…
I believe that I can be a spirited, dedicated, and experienced member of the LSTV committee, and I would love to help encourage old and new members to branch out of their comfort zone and produce something that they can be proud of, while experiencing and learning new cultures. With the role, I want to help celebrate the diverse University and society that we are by creating entertaining coverage of a range of cultural events that are happening throughout the year. LSTV TAKES ON LONDON FASHION WEEK…
In celebration of the infamous London Fashion Week, I propose a competition/ challenge video where LSTV members compete against each other in Leeds charity shops to create the most extravagant London Fashion Week outfit. A camera crew will follow the competitors as they try on clothes to be crowned as the McQueen of LSTV. 3
ST PADDYS DAY BONANZA…
Two teams compete in an array of St Patricks day themed challenges, I’m talking find me a 4-leaf clover, Irish dancing dance off, detect the Irish slang etc.
Following on, I think one of the most important aspects of culture is your collaboration with other Heads of LSTV. I would love to collaborate with the new co-heads of news to do a series of culture episodes where we collaborate with other societies, such as the National Hindu Students Forum and the Feminist Society, to discuss goals, beliefs, and just to share information and a passion for these topics with the LSTV audience. The opportunities for collaborations are endless as collabs with music, sport, and light entertainment would allow for some great production.
FINALLY…
Whilst the content that we produce within culture is so important, as Head of Culture I would also really encourage and help members, new or old, to make friends or connections throughout LSTV. Whether it be a friend to socialise with or a friendly face to say hi to in the studio, I would like to make sure that new members settle in quickly and comfortably.
