My name is Ayanna and I'm running for Diversity Officer this year! I would love to introduce BSL videos to LSTV, and mini talk shows with societies such as Femsoc or Green Action involving light-hearted trivia of relevant facts. It seems like a fun way for people to build awareness and confidence in front of a camera.
I know that this role is well-suited to me for multiple reasons. I’m blessed with an intersectional insight on factors that others might miss as a queer black woman. So, I consider myself knowledgeable on matters of identity.
I was also a member of the EDI Committee (Equality, Diversion and Inclusion) from Year 12 -13, where we raised money during pride month and had meetings regarding teaching of the syllabus and how to improve awareness in school.

Generally speaking, I believe I have the awareness, care and sensitivity needed for a responsibility like this. Especially now that Diversity Officer is a full role within its own right; it deserves someone who will take it seriously and bring meaningful thought and criticism to the table. And I know that that is something I can and will do :)

Hello! I'm Celeste, and I'm running for Diversity Officer. As diversity officer, i’ll try my best to curate a space that encourages diversity, and be a non-judgemental point of contact for members to express their concerns and suggestions.

This would be through:
- Continue with what Saskia’s done the year previously — a form where you can freely communicate and express your opinion with the option of being anonymous
- Monitor and deal with potential issues, especially for minorities
- Work with the head of culture to promote events from non-UK cultures (e.g. Mid Autumn Festival is coming up, Chinese New Year, Leeds Pride, etc.)
- Potentially collaborate with societies for other diverse groups within LUU in a society-swap style video
- Overall, i just want to continue to make LSTV a safe place where everyone feels comfortable
