Hello, I am Cherry :)
I believe I would smash the role of deputy station manager, not only because of my confidence in my ability to execute the role fabulously, but also because of my personal experiences with LSTV already.

Being part of projects all over the society (commercial live shows, short films, light ents, sport, social media) made me realise how fun and easy it is to get involved, and this feels important to motivate especially to freshers.

Having been a committee member, Head of Music taught me how special it is to work with members creatively, and find opportunities that push videos to the max. One of my favourite projects in LSTV was producing event coverage for Live at Leeds Fest, winning a NASTA Gold. This boosted my confidence in production and has made me passionate about encouraging others to BELIEVE in themselves and create projects that might seem scary.

Besides LSTV experience, my study abroad has taught me a fuck ton about videography, camera and tech. I have studied and been assessed on my TV/camera skill through creation of documentaries, news stories, broadcasts and coverages. These focused on how the heck camera technology and settings work, so passing on this knowledge from an exec position feels beneficial to the TV society as a whole.

Also, being a record label intern throughout this year meant being in a secretary-like position for the company. This involved keeping documentation up-to-date, writing and distributing publications across our platforms, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. Such experiences that I feel are very relevant as Deputy.

Still, as someone who is proper chatty, wants to get involved with everything, and loves to do random admin tasks on a laptop, this role feels right up my street.
