Hi I am Lucy Hart! I am running to be the next political and campaigning activities exec. I am currently a member of Leeds Labour Society, SASHA, POLISSOC, Women in Leadership and involved with Fem Soc - societies that are linked to this rep role. I am also a member of Open Theatre, HOMED and yoga society. During my role on the Student Exec as Union Affairs and Communications Officer I have discovered that at LUU, we should broaden and diversify the student voice, taking an outward facing approach where students can lead effective campaigns. In this role I gained experience in leading campaigns including my Don't Lose Hart campaign to be elected to my role and anti-spiking campaign to increase awareness around nighttime safety. I stewarded the Reclaim the Night protest which was empowering and successful with half of attendants being students. I have experience in chairing meetings, organising events and taking a collaborative leadership approach which I will bring to this role.

What I aim to achieve:

Implement regular meetings with society presidents or campaign coordinators to share campaign ideas and support each other

Empower societies to run more campaigns around issues they are passionate about and increase awareness of these campaigns with the support of LUU and to ensure that they are addressed by the University and government

Be a visible leader attending the events of societies that I represent and support them

Arrange workshops to support societies with campaigning
