I am running to be secretary for PAS next year as I have been on committee for the last 2 years - first social media sec and then showcase sec - and I would like to experience helping the society in a different way. I am very passionate about our society, dedicated and responsible - I’ve attended every single class this year, more than any other committee member! I will also be the longest standing committee member if I am elected Secretary, so the committee will benefit from my knowledge of the society from both this year and the year before. I also have a deep rooted love for musical theatre and hope I can spread that enthusiasm next year in the exciting new numbers we choose to do for the showcase!!! I am a trained singer, with a Grade 8 qualification in musical theatre singing and I am also qualified to teach dance as I have a Level 2 Dance Leaders certification, so I am fully capable of stepping in and taking on teaching roles (if I am needed) like I did this year with singing teacher. I have also received years of musical theatre training by West End professionals so I hope I can use my experience and knowledge to assist the society and any members next year. I already do a lot of behind-the-scenes work for PAS, like opening up pathways between our society and others (e.g. MT and Panto) and I was able to arrange for us to perform in an extra show this year (the panto at Christmas) so I hope to create similar opportunities for our society in the future! I already have experience with a lot of what the secretary does, i.e. booking rehearsal spaces, making social media posts etc so I know exactly what to do for this role next year. I am extremely proud of our society and what it stands for, so I am intending to continue promoting our ethics and talent in the years ahead!
