Hello ladies,

I want to start off by saying what an incredible year we have had so far! I cannot wait to see what next year holds for us as a growing club and I am certain the memories will only get better.

I am more than honoured to have the possibility and opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Nia as Club Captain. I am sure we can all agree what an outstanding job she has done this year and I am eager to continue this. With the club welcoming a considerable amount of members this year, I would aim to prioritise a friendly environment and excel in opportunities for new members to be involved in. Being personally involved in as many aspects of the club as possible, albeit Netball is not my strongest point, I want to encourage new members to find their place within Women's cricket.

Despite a slight (if that) scary persona put on from being your social sec, I do promise I am a very approachable and friendly face to turn to. When I don’t have a soop in hand, I am your woman. I am very reliable and organised and only wish to show this to you all next year.

If elected, I would ensure the Club runs smoothly throughout the year and be more than happy to and ready to help any members and committee members. Regular committee meetings would take place alongside with check-ins. I would also focus on a close relationship with the executive committee and dedicate time slots to discuss the progress of the club. Importantly, having already worked closely with Nia and Nina through my role as social secretary this year, I feel prepared and excited to have the opportunity to take on the role of Club Captain.

My main aim for the commencing academic year would be to expand the growth of the club in all aspects to cater towards the increase in members. For example, ensuring ample opportunities to get involved in playing cricket regardless of experience. This would involve more friendly fixtures indoors and outdoors and looking into joining a local (women’s) league ;). In regards to social members, I would like more opportunities outside of a Wednesday to connect, whether this entails more activity based possibilities like the current Netball team, or team meals and team bonding experiences. Alas, emphasis on the importance of a Wednesday night will not be lost and I am ecstatic to see what next year holds - why can’t a third year be social sec? And why can’t I do it twice?

I am also keen to continue our relationship with Men’s cricket that has been built over the years and work with them for events that make the year for everyone like the Ball (and of course the subsequent ball rollover…).

I am delighted to be a part of this club and only want to see us thrive together.
