Hi my name is Emma and I’m in my second year of biology and I’m applying for Social media sec, working in partnership with Social Sec. Within this role, I’ll make sure there is lots of information available to all students, freshers, and older years. Last year I was in Lacrosse and Biosoc and I think it’s key that we have downtime from studies to make life long friendships, have fun nights out, and also memorable activities everyone can take part in and feel comfortable doing so. It’s important that this info is easy to access through an active up to date social media platform, all in one place to make sure as many people attend as possible and access the information posted! Despite what our lecturers might say, social life at Uni is just as important as our studies, and making friends in your course is a key part of having even more fun at uni. I want to promote across our Instagram and Facebook not only the fun socials that will be arranged but also helpful tips and information about Biology and all this course entails!

I’m a second year ecology and conservation biology student who is keen to boost the engage students in the wider faculty especially after the impact that covid had. I would like to boost the society’s online social media presence to increase participation, potentially by using platforms like TikTok which I’m aware the society isn’t currently using. For instance, as well as advertising socials, events and sports, having regular fun posts, such as animal and plant facts, and help promote the things most of us are most passionate about!

Hi!! :) My name is Heywon but most of my friends call me Heys, and I am a second year student taking biotechnology. I would love to be this year’s biosoc social media sec in order to help the community grow by promoting the society and its socials. I understand how intimidating it can be to attend events without knowing many people there, so I want to be someone who is approachable and helpful, whether its through answering questions on social media or being a friendly face in person. In relation to this, I would like to assist in organising more fun socials and giag sessions to always encourage new people to join. I enjoy taking photos of my friends and am looking forward to posting about and advertising the various socials that will be held. I have been fortunate enough to meet new people and make friends with similar interests doing similar courses and would love to help others experience the same. Thanks!
