I have attended over 25 MUN conferences where I have held two secretariats, twelve chairing and multiple delegate positions. The secretariat positions I have held have both been Crisis Director and have won seven awards for my performance as a delegate which range from best position paper to best speaker. I have also visited the UN headquarters in Geneva for a MUN where I was the delegate of France in the Security Council and won the best delegate award. In highschool I was also on the student council as the MUN president where I organized mun confrences and had people participating from all over the world and therefore understand the responsibilty that comes with being a secretary. As secretary of the Leeds UN society, I want to take advantage of this experience as it allows a greater understanding of people's various backgrounds and experiences, by working as a vital link between a committee and its members.
I want to take advantage of my multi-national experience to ensure other people look forward to the sessions at the society as a break from studying and to help encourage them to further their interests in politics by being more accessible to anyone.
This would also give me skills in administrating in balancing peoples wishes and what is feasible at the same time.
