Why vote for me? I Think an Academic Event Officer should have Organising skills, Leadership skills, good communication, networks and most importantly, IDEASSS!!! And allow me so summarise how I meet all these criteria

Organising: I am the School rep of the School of Computer Science. I chair meeting with the school's staff members and also with pro dean and the LUU. I have also organised many events before, in my previous university (I used to go to another one) I was part of the CS society and organised competitive programming contest, Line-Following-Robot contest, chess tournament and football tournament.

Leadership: I was an academic rep for the past two years. I'm also the secretary of the AI Society. In my high school, I led my Scout Unit as the Senior Patrol Leader (highest ranking within an unit).

Communication: All the things above should indicate I have a good communication skill. In addition I am an Educational Engagement Ambassador and in many occasion I delivered talk to 270-300 people.

Networks: As academic rep I have gained a huge network within our university, not just in our school but also outside as I work with other schools as well! I also have good relation with many other societies. I work as a CTO at a UK company and through that I've gain so many connection within industry!

Ideas: This is a big one. If I don't have ideas, how am I gonna run a society right? So, I want to organise much more academic events!
1. Organise the regional round of the ICPC, International Collegiate Programming Contest (the biggent programming contest in the world) in our university.

2. Continue the legacy of LeedsHack.

3. Monthly intra-school competitive programming contest like the ICPC and have a leader board for people to flex! Btw Competitive Programming Contest like the ICPC and a Hackathon are two different types of thing.

4. Workshops and training session by the staff and experts to improve your problem solving and programming skiils and also to train for the upcoming ICPC. Let's aim for top 100 guys!!

5. AI related events like AI hackathon, workshop, industry talk and much more. And since I'm part of the AI society as well, it works out!!

6. Robotics event: workshop of how to get started with Arduino and micro controller and competition like LFR (Line Following Robot)

7. Work with other societies to organise collaborative competition and events. Since I already have good relation with other society including ShockSoc, AISoc, Blockchain society, you can expect great things ahead!!!

### **Candidate Statement – Academic Events Officer**

With experience in **student leadership, event organization, and advocacy**, I am committed to making academic events more **engaging, inclusive, and impactful**. As a **former School Representative**, I led and represented 500+ students, addressing academic and extracurricular concerns. My role as **Cultural Captain** involved organizing large-scale events, fostering student involvement, and strengthening community engagement.

In the tech space, I have **competed in hackathons at Leeds and Glasgow**, collaborated on **game development projects**, and actively contributed to university-led initiatives. Through my work in **STEM awareness and mentorship programs**, I have supported **women in technology and rural communities** by organizing workshops and health initiatives.

If elected, I will:
✔ **Enhance academic support** through peer-led study groups and student-faculty engagement.
✔ **Expand industry exposure** by collaborating with tech societies for workshops and hackathons.
✔ **Foster inclusivity** through initiatives supporting women in tech and international students.

With my leadership experience, organizational skills, and passion for student growth, I will work towards a **stronger, more connected academic community**.

But I plan on getting the best companies in to give talks as well as helping out at the leeds hack to create the largest event possible to allow everyone to try it out with no barriers to enter.

I have so much experience in organising external 3 parties talks already from being Welfare & Social Sec of Leeds hockey Club to founding Caledonian Society in 20222 and being on Exec Committee (Treasurer) for the past 2 years
