Hi, my name is Eni, I am currently studying a BSC in CompSci and I have been a member of Compsoc for almost a year.

I thought it would be cool to apply to this because I feel like compsoc has been a really influential community during my uni experience so far. I found that the social events have been a fun and beneficial way to meet new people from my course and/or those with similar interests. By applying for this position, I hope to do the same for others.

This year, there was a good range of events, and if I am elected as your social secretary, I will continue this standard, and ensure Compsoc continues to have fun and memorable socials.

Hello world! I'm Naomi, a 2nd year computer science student.
I really enjoy bringing people together by organising parties and events, and would love the opportunity to plan socials for CompSoc!! Having been a member for the past 2 years, I know our love for the classic fridge 2 fridges, pub quizzes, pixel bar socials, etc. so of course I'd keep them going! I'd also implement my own ideas such as Secret Santa and sober socials so there's something for everyone e.g. an escape room! Ideas from you guys are always welcome too ofc:)

About me
I'm Alex, a 2nd Year Computer Science Student - I'm keen to bring the best socials I can to CompSoc, working alongside Shay we've seen where CompSoc has excelled and we understand where we can fill the gaps to give a great experience to everyone. I'm pationate about getting everyone involved for some relaxed, informal socials alongside the key highlight events (like the Pub Quiz and Fridge to Fridge of course) and let's not forget the Ball at the end of the year!

Hi, I’m Anthony, a second year Computer Science & Maths student and have been part of the society for 2 years. I’m running for social sec to help grow the society’s social side. I have experience organising things (as director of a games studio and generally socialable person) and lots and lots of experience attending pubs & socials.

I would plan out a socials calendar for each semester with the other social sec. The aim of this is to make sure everyone knows what’s happening and there’s no huge gaps - regular socials help people get to know eachother which leads to other great things in the society. Plus they’re fun.

The fridge 2 fridges are great (very sadly slept through the last one after spending 18 hours in eddy b but I have attended most of them) and I want to make them more adventurous. For example instead of just picking your own outfit you get assigned a person and have to buy their outfit for £5 from a charity shop!

The pub quiz was done really well this year and I would love to continue that and introduce another team related social like a pub golf or a scavenger hunt. A day trip would also be a good sober social.
(I definitely didn’t steal any of these ideas from climbing).

About Me

Hi! I’m a second-year Computer Science student who’s passionate about building a stronger sense of community within our course. I want to create more regular, low-pressure chances for CompSci students to hang out, relax, and get to know each other beyond the lecture theatre.
