The President of Leeds Griffins Quidditch society is responsible for representing the Club within the LUU as well as across our wider Quidditch Community. They will oversee all club activities, organise the delegation of jobs to their committee, help form ideas and plan ahead for fixtures, training, and socials. They must consult with their committee members, if not all members, on major decisions. The President is default Chair for all Committee Meetings, meaning they are responsible for moving through the agenda and asking for votes and opinions, a role which they may share with a chosen co-chair (often the Secretary).
The President is often the default Speaking Captain for QUK events unless stated otherwise. The President must be at least partially responsible for maintaining a safe and organised environment for club members, providing a welcoming face and first point of contact for concerns, questions, queries, and suggestions. For this reason, the President should be very familiar with LUU Social Guidelines as well as the IQA International Quidditch Rulebook. It is recommended the President aspire to achieve Head Referee Qualification, but not necessary.
Club President must maintain good communication with their committee and society members. Unless a Publicity Officer is appointed, they will be the primary manager and facilitator of online communications with the exception of Emails. The President should keep good faith with their Members and fellow Committee, and be open and honest about their experiences and capacity to perform their role.
