Hi, my name is Chloe, and I would like to continue being on the MSRC committee as a 2nd year rep. I look forward to helping students voice their concerns, and continue to further improve our experience as medical students.

Hi, I’m Gopika, and I’m applying for 2nd year rep!

As a commuter student, I’ve seen how course structure and scheduling directly shape engagement and accessibility. This drives me to advocate for a more inclusive, well-supported experience for everyone.

If elected, I will help to

Improve student–faculty communication with clear updates

Reduce late (4–5pm) lectures and ensure timely upload of lecture recordings

Expand access to exam prep materials, including formative answers and realistic practice questions as Assessment Rep

Improve scheduling of Clinical Skills sessions across the year

Support transition through the Medic Undergraduate Mentoring Scheme

I’ll act as a reliable and proactive link between our year group and the MSRC, making sure feedback leads to visible change. The Mentoring Scheme really helped me personally to settle into first year, and I want to strengthen that support for others.

I’ve represented students as a British Indian Medical Organisation rep and First Year Rep for Orthosoc and Eyesoc, working with committees to make real improvements, so I’m confident I can deliver in this role.

Hi, I’m Amber, and I’m running to be one of your Year 2 reps!

I am currently one of your Year 1 reps, and I have enjoyed being able to advocate for and support our cohort. Over the year, I worked to raise your concerns, improve communication with the faculty, and support you all as much as I could – which is something I have found genuinely rewarding.

Being elected again this year would mean having an experiences rep who already understands how things work, so issues can be addressed more efficiently and to a high standard. It also means building on the relationships already established with staff and committee members, helping ensure your voices continue to be heard. Plus, you’ve definitely seen my name pop up on the WhatsApp group, so you know exactly who to contact for support (or who to block – kidding!).

As we move into year 2, with a more intense workload and timetable, it’s especially important that everyone feels listened to and supported. If elected, I’ll continue pushing for strong student support and wellbeing, while working closely with the faculty to make this transition as smooth as possible.

I would like to think I’m approachable and easy to talk to, so whatever it is you need, I am always happy to help. And since I am basically glued to my phone (is that really a good thing?), you won’t be waiting long for a reply!

Hi! I’m running for 2nd year rep because I’d love the opportunity to represent my peers and help make a positive impact on our med school community, acting as a link between our year group, MSRC, and faculty.
I’ve been involved in a range of leadership roles at school, specifically as a head of school and dance captain where I developed strong communication, organisation, and public speaking skills. I’m comfortable gathering and sharing feedback, and would aim to make sure student voices are properly heard in meetings with module leaders and year leads. I also completed a Level 3 teaching qualification and ran inclusive dance workshops to help students of all abilities feel confident getting involved.
I’m also interested in patient advocacy, and wrote a blog for the British Skin Foundation on eczema, combining personal experience with research to help raise awareness.
At university, I’ve been actively involved in Wilderness Medicine through teaching sessions, trips, and competing in the Wild Trials as part of the team, which has helped me build teamwork skills and learn from students across different years, while continuing dance as a creative outlet.
I’d describe myself as relaxed, approachable, and easy to talk to- always happy to have a chat or listen, whether it’s about course feedback or anything else :)

Hi everyone, I'm Fiona and I would love to be one of your 2nd year reps next year!

I know what it’s like to run around through first year like a headless chicken — feeling like there’s so much to do, so little time, and sometimes far too much information.

Something I’d really like to advocate for is clearer and more concise information about timetable changes, assignments and key messages from the medical school, all in one place instead of lost in emails or Minerva. I’d also love to push for shared resources — like study guides and clearer exam guidance, for smaller or less examined modules such as ENQUIRE and IDEALS.

But that kind of change only really works if people feel comfortable speaking up in the first place.

I'm honestly one of the chattiest people I know, so if there's ever anything you'd want to ask or improve about 2nd year, exams or just to talk, I'll pretty much always be around Worsley somewhere.

And just so you know I do actually know what I’m doing, quick self‑glaze: I’ve had experience representing students before as Deputy Head Girl and House Captain, where I was often the go‑to person for passing ideas, concerns and feedback upwards — and actually getting things changed.

That’s exactly what I want to do as a 2nd year rep: helping things run smoother in a year that has a bit of a reputation for being a step up, and making sure small issues get sorted before they turn into a last-minute panic.

Hi, I’m Adil and I would love to serve as your 2nd year rep!

To help 2nd year run smoothly I want to propose some ideas:

1. Urge the medical school for access to a comprehensive all-in-one anatomy online resource to supplement our learning as the volume and intensity of anatomy increases significantly

2. Advocating the provision of a bank of MCQs to best support accurate exam preparation

3. Campaigning for better communication between the medical school and placement leads for all students to benefit maximally

I have been a secretary for my school charity and a prefect at high school giving me the skills to liaise with different members of the faculty to derive the best results.

I hope that easing the academic pressure will allow us to spend good time in different societies and enjoying our year on campus before being thrown into the world of clinical placements in 3rd year.

I will ensure all feedback is always given utmost value when relaying to committee and the MBChB team.
