This past academic year has taught me the importance of being a voice for a student body. I have been successful in actioning curriculum changes by representing students’ opinions. I am excited to put these learned skills into action as I focus on equity for all affiliated with the society when managing the finances in the next academic year. As treasurer, I will ensure the financial stability of the society without compromising on the social needs of the body!

Alongside this, I excel with numbers - never getting less than a Grade A across my entire academic career! Accountability, integrity and organisation are qualities I pride myself in - so rest assured, you’re in safe hands!

Hi everyone,

My name is Kiran - I'm a second year who loves playing badminton, travel journalling and watching movies in my free time. I've also been Merchandise Coordinator this year for MSRC.

Last year, I applied to be Merch Rep as I thought it would be a relatively chill, laidback role (I was wrong lol). I got used to my name being on the actions and agenda every week, and always had merch lingering in the back of my mind throughout the whole year. However, I am so glad I had the opportunity to do this role - I learnt a lot of lessons, improved my organisation skills massively, and helped to make Leeds' merch offerings better than ever!

Most importantly, I had the privilege of being part of such a supportive and kind committee - MSRC was definitely a highlight of my second year, and I would absolutely love to stay for next year too.

Next year, I would love for the chance to be Treasurer, as I believe the experience I have gained as Merch Rep makes me a great fit for this role. As Merch Rep, I organised the order of over 400 merch products with our supplier, and was the bridge between the committee and the supplier to bring our new Special Edition hoodies and sweatshirts to life.

I also understand that the role of Treasurer is a very labour-intensive role with an immense amount of responsibility, however this really excites me - I balanced my role of Merch Rep this year alongside being on another committee, a part-time job and my uni work, so I can be trusted with organising my time around a lot of work!

Alongside merch this year, I also organised and hosted the Sip and Paint session as part of Helping Hands, and helped with the set up and presenting at the Worsley Awards.

I’ve really loved my time on MSRC this year, and I can’t wait to see the amazing things the committee will achieve next year!
