Hi! I’m Aleesha and I’d love to be your 3rd Year Rep for MSRC!

I love talking to everyone across the cohort (I’m a serial yapper) so I will make sure everyone feels comfortable voicing ideas and concerns, whether it’s about modules, merch, the APL, or even beyond the course.

Throughout my 2 years working as a student ambassador for the School of Medicine, I’ve built strong communication and teamwork skills. As your rep I’d use these skills to make sure all your suggestions are heard at meetings, and ensure you’re kept up to date on exactly what will change. I’m excited to collaborate as a team with fellow year reps and committee to contribute to meaningful improvements.

Something I’m super passionate about is student wellbeing. Balancing teaching and placement can be hard, and as we move to 3rd year things will be even busier. I want to help identify what parts of the course are/aren’t working and push for changes that make life less stressful for us.

I’d also love to help improve support around building a portfolio for future speciality training. This is something a lot of students find daunting and confusing (myself included!)
I hope if students have clearer guidance from an earlier stage, it would help us all feel more prepared for future years of study and work after uni.

Hi everyone,

My name is Kiran - I'm a second year who loves playing badminton, travel journalling and watching movies in my free time. I've also been Merchandise Coordinator this year for MSRC.

This year, I saw all the amazing work our year reps on committee did to improve our medical school. I love talking to my friends and fellow students about the good and bad things about our course - actually presenting this feedback to our module and year leads as a year rep would be such a privilege.

One particular thing I would love to work on is the introduction of reading weeks for second years, as well as ensuring that students feel well supported and confident in the transition to clinical years. I would also be able to provide valuable support with merch sales and distribution with my thorough experience with merch this year.

MSRC is genuinely the best committee to be on, and I would love to help contribute to improving our medical school next year too.

I would love to be a third-year rep because I genuinely care about making sure our year group feels heard and supported throughout our first clinical year. I know that third year will be a big step up from the pre-clinical years, with more intense placements, increased self-directed learning, and preparation for our first OSCEs.

During this busy period, I want to ensure that every student feels comfortable approaching me with any concerns or suggestions for improvement. If elected, I would proactively gather feedback from as many students as possible and present it directly to module and year leads. My aim is to serve as an effective link between our year group, the MSRC, and faculty so that ideas are not only heard but followed up on.

I would also be happy to help with organising merch supply and distribution, as I think it is a great way to keep our year group connected.

Overall, I am friendly, approachable and reliable and I would really value the opportunity to represent our year group and help make sure that every student feels their voice is being heard.

I’m running for 3rd Year Student Representative because I genuinely care about making our year’s experience as strong, fair, and supportive as it can be. As we move through one of the most demanding stages of medical school, it’s more important than ever that our voices are clearly heard and acted on — and I want to help make that happen.
I see this role as being a reliable bridge between our cohort, the MSRC, and the faculty. I will actively gather your feedback — both the positives and the concerns — and ensure it is communicated clearly and constructively in meetings with module leaders and year leads. Just as importantly, I’ll make sure any updates or decisions are fed back to you, so everyone stays informed and involved.
I’m approachable and proactive, and I want people to feel comfortable raising issues, whether they affect a few individuals or the whole year. If selected, I’d also be keen to contribute to organising School of Medicine merchandise and supporting initiatives that bring our cohort together.

Hi, I’m Yusuf, and I’d love to be your 3rd year representative on the MSRC.

You might know me as one of the “APL warriors”, (often one of the last to leave), or as the guy from the NHS AD that somehow made its way to everyone’s insta fyp’s, (yes… I chose to do this). But more importantly, I hope you know me as someone approachable, committed and easy to talk to.

I’ve worked in the NHS since Year 11, in a variety of roles including as a receptionist (character building to say the least). It’s strengthened my communication, organisation and interpersonal skills which I’d use to represent you! I’ve always been involved in Student Voice, from being elected to the Student Council every year from Y7-13, and also held leadership roles in Sixth Form.

If elected, I will ensure your voices are heard, concerns are followed up on and that you are represented. I can’t wait to create a more positive environment that puts you and your needs first.

Hi, I'm Nithu and I would love to be the 3rd year MSRC rep! Moving into the clinical years, I understand the importance of having a friendly face to talk to, to discuss and improve placement experience for everyone and I think I could be that person. I have the skills to represents the year to the faculty and make sure everyone’s voices are heard, by taking everyone’s comments and feedback seriously. I am also happy to support the organisation of merch, and I’d love to streamline the process to make it smoother for everyone.
