Hey I’m Rosa and I’m in first year doing English lit & Spanish. Love the music library - I’ve been volunteering since first semester and it’s been the only society I’ve kept up! I’ve met some great people and would love to meet more and work together next year. This position would be good for me because I’m in a band so am always looking for ways to stay involved with music and the people who love it. My all-time fave albums are To Bring You My Love by PJ Harvey, Mary Magdalene by FKA Twigs, Flying Away by Smoke City and Viva! La Woman by Cibo Matto, but I realise as I write this I probably have too many to name… :)

Hi! I’m Tianna, I’m a second year Fine Art student and I’m nominating myself for the role of Vice President. I missed out on UML during my first year, so I’m especially keen to get involved next year to make up for lost time. I’ve spent the past semester volunteering, and have had a lot of fun getting involved with the society, meeting other members, and bonding over our taste, which is part of the reason I’d love to be VP!

My experience with running and promoting past exhibitions within the Fine Art department has given me valuable skills regarding management, organisation, and event planning. Perhaps most importantly, it has also taught me the importance of being able to fairly distribute tasks in order to support and lighten the workload of my peers, something that is an essential part of the role Vice President, and also of being a member of a community at large. Another reason I’d be a great fit is because I’m incredibly passionate about the society - I’ve been collecting physical music of all genres for the past six years now, and have been writing about it in my zines for just as long. Because of this, I have a fleshed out and substantiated knowledge of many of the titles and artists kept in UML, and am always looking to learn and discover more. I would be a great asset to the society, from new ideas (such as a concert-buddy system for anyone hesitant to go to shows alone), to my knack for collaboration and collective work, to my overall enthusiasm for the library.
