Hi, I’m Yasmin and I’m running for PALS3 Co-Lead! I have found PALS incredibly useful throughout my time at medical school, especially during third year and doing OSCEs for the first time. I have spent the past year developing my own teaching skills and am currently providing advice and support to a group of year 2 students, which has been immensely rewarding.

I have also volunteered to run a PALS session this year, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. This further developed my interest in teaching and motivated me to become a Co-Lead so that I could do much more to provide academic support to the year group.

Plans I have for next year include running sessions on the OSCE examinations and histories, creating summaries for each examination that students can use to aid revision, organising mock OSCEs and running revision sessions relevant to the year 3 core conditions list.

I’m really looking forward to next year and believe that as a Co-Lead I can help create an interactive and engaging space that will make a positive difference to student learning!

Hi, I’m Zoe and I have just finished my 3rd year at Leeds medical school. This year I have enjoyed the new learning experiences and expanding my knowledge in medicine. I look forward to the opportunity of offering advice and support to incoming third-year students.

Throughout this past year, PALS has provided essential learning and revision resources and advice on how to tackle our first clinical year. If elected I would love to continue to adapt sessions and materials to the preferences of students, as well as using my own experience to help structure and guide teaching.

I have prior experience teaching students, and understand how to run sessions in a more efficient and manageable way. Throughout the past few years I’ve gained great communication and organisational skills through different encounters. I look forward to using these skills to facilitate communication and help bridge the gap between students and the medical school leadership.

Hi my name is Iqra and I’d like to run for PALS 3 Co-lead this year. Throughout my time in medical school I have benefitted greatly from the revision sessions provided by PALS. I have volunteered on PALS teaching sessions in previous years and being on the core committee this year I gained a better insight into the running of the society and how valuable it is as a resource for medical students in all year groups. I would like to be more involved in the organisational and teaching aspect of PALS in the upcoming year to further expand my skillset and contribute to the society.

With 3rd year being so placement heavy and more clinically oriented it can be quite overwhelming. If elected I would like to run specialty specific sessions throughout the year to help future students navigate the massive core conditions list, whilst being on placement full time. I’d also continue the annual PALS3 MOSCE which is a great resource to help students navigate their first year of OSCEs.

I have previous experience being secretary and communications officer in other societies and organisations which has helped me improve my planning and time management skills. I am confident I will be able to add value to the PALS team with these experiences as well as take value from it.

Hi, I'm Inthu! I'm running for PALS3 Co-Lead. PALS was incredibly helpful for me in the third year, especially since so much of the content was self-directed learning. I love how PALS is accessible to everyone and provides crucial support during this challenging year.

I'm passionate about teaching and sharing my knowledge and tips. Year 3 content is fascinating to me, and I'm eager to pass on that enthusiasm through peer teaching. If elected, I plan to run revision crash courses for each specialty on the core conditions list and organise OSCE sessions. I'll tailor sessions based on poll results and focus on high-yield content to ensure we cover what’s most important.

Having been the secretary of another society and having worked in other teams, I’m very organised and adept at balancing priorities, which I will bring to this role. I also have strong teamwork and collaboration skills, and I'm confident I’ll work well with the other PALS3 Co-Leads to create an engaging, accessible program for all.
