Hello, my name is Mariam Lakhany and I am an international student from Karachi in the final year of my degree studying fashion marketing. I am running for the marketing officer for PakSoc. Growing up in the most diverse and multicultural cities of Pakistan, I have had immense opportunities to not just learn multiple skills with a vast range of experiences but also to be able influence my fellow peers through leadership positions.
 
Without any further ado, lets move on to my manifesto:
 
I aim to bring an even more diverse set of students to PakSoc so our society reflects the actual essence of authentic Pakistani culture. Having been the head girl of my school before university, I also have ample experience raising funds and organizing major events. I am also well versed in building an effective communication channel between members and management for smooth operations.
 
I have a tremendous amounts of experience marketing and running social media campaigns with major Pakistani brands like Khaadi, and one of the biggest fashion design houses in Pakistan, Farah Talib Aziz. I am well versed in directing content for events and the different kinds of coverages needed for a good marketing presence. I have been attending PakSoc's events since last year and I believe I will be a great addition to the PakSoc team specially because I understand the need for a familiar society for international students. My aim will be to guide the society’s presence towards being a comfort space for international students. However, I truly believe that showcasing our culture to people of different backgrounds is a great way to rightly make PakSoc a multicultural experience.
 
Hence, I believe collaborating with members of other societies and targeting non-pakistani members of the university to attend PakSoc’s events would be an incredible opportunity for all UoL students into making the university a more accepting place for all students. To conclude, I would love to join the management of PakSoc and guide the society through the upcoming year into bringing real change.

My name is Mehar Khan, I am a first-year engineering student studying aerospace at Leeds, originally from Manchester with roots in Lahore. Apart from engineering, I love basketball and suffer from the Ls Manchester United take weekly. Nonetheless, I am applying for the role of Marketing Officer for the Pakistani Society. This manifesto will outline my goals and ambitions and what I will bring to your table today and right now.

My plan/manifesto is called “I am feel, I am very feel” – Oleksandr Usyk; this is where each action should have a positive reaction which is felt amongst the committee and members of the society. My main action is to expand the recognition/exposure of Leeds PakSoc beyond the university, towards the wider community across the UK, this will allow everyone to celebrate the culture of Pakistan whilst creating opportunities for both event crowdfunding from businesses and word-of-mouth marketing. My experience in previous ventures as Team Manager and Marketing & Social Media co-ordinator will be pivotal for event planning and advertisement. Working with major sponsors such as UK Energy Plus, Hyundai, Casio and Soreen makes me value outreach and the significance of interdependence within a team; these are the attributes I want to bring to PakSoc to make sure everything is lit because vibes FC. I have ample experience working with the current Head of Media on substantial projects in the past and I am knowledgeable with videography, adobe applications and can run a successful AD campaign using Facebooks ADs. As a marketing officer I want to work with other Pakistani Societies from several universities, to create a welcoming environment and to make Leeds PakSoc a home away from home.

To sign off, the main key of my plan is you guys i.e., the members of the society. Receiving feedback from members will provide personal anecdotal experiences which will help to grow the PakSoc community in the UK and across the world for years to come; so everyone stays winning.
I look forward to meeting all of you at the events even if it isn’t as Marketing Officer, so let’s make PakSoc 2022 pop off differently.
