Hi, I’m Hannah Gibson and I’m running to be your next Secretary of Ballet Society for 2025/26. I’m currently a first year student studying Physics and have loved being a member of Ballet Society over the past year!

I have danced for 14 years and volunteered as a teaching assistant for children’s dance lessons for 3 years. With experience as a teaching assistant, I have a great appreciation for the organisation that goes into running a dance school and the teamwork needed to keep things running smoothly. As a physics student I bring a great attention to detail, communication skills and time management, due the intense course and long hours that go in to my studies.

As your secretary I promise that I will keep all social media pages active and fun, whether that will be making TikTok’s at the socials, spotlighting our members or posting upcoming events. I will also make sure the weekly emails are clear and concise, that all the information you will need for the upcoming week is communicated well, so you’ll always know what’s happening and when. My main goal is to ensure everything runs swiftly behind the scenes so that Ballet Society can be a welcoming and fun space for everyone.

Hello! My name is Amadee, I am a first year English Literature student and have loved ballet like many of us from a young age.

You may have seen me during class in Higher Inter on a Tuesday or Improvers Pointe on a Sunday. After taking a few years away from ballet, joining the society has truly reignited my love for it and for that I am beyond grateful.

I’m running for Secretary because I’d love the opportunity to give back to the community that helped me reconnect with something so important to me. I’m naturally bubbly, kind, and caring (you’ll rarely see me without a smile!), and I’d bring that warmth and positivity into every aspect of the role.

Organisation and behind the scenes work are things I have always enjoyed so running for a role on the committee only felt natural. Every year, I return to help at my old ballet school varying from backstage support, organising students, or assisting with show prep. I have seen first hand how much care and planning go into making things run smoothly. I would love to bring that same dedication and attention to detail to the role of Secretary.

As part of the committee, I’ll make sure members stay in the loop with clear, friendly updates about classes, events, and performances. I’ll keep registers well organised, take succinct meeting notes and support the rest of the committee however I can. With my background in English Literature I am natural at making information simple, thoughtful and helpful for everyone.

Most of all I care deeply about creating a welcoming, inclusive space where everyone feels comfortable whether you’re returning to ballet like me or just starting out!

Hi everyone, my name is Claire and I would love to be Ballet’s 2025/26 Secretary. I can’t quite believe that I’m going into my 5th and final year with LUU Ballet Society. I’ve had a strange university experience, but my one constant has always been LUU Ballet and all of the amazing friends I have made from the society.
As social sec in 2nd year, President in 3rd year and Advanced Competition Captain this year, I really am obsessed with this society and would be so honoured to be on committee for a final time ( ;( ). During my time on committee, I have been part of all aspects of the society, and I feel that secretary will allow me to contribute even further by utilising my organisational skills, passion for the society, and commitment to ensuring everything runs smoothly.
I am also a part of Modern Dance and would love to extend the enhanced relationship that we had this year within the competition teams to the whole society.
I love to chat to everyone & anyone, and feel strongly that everyone at the society should feel included and welcome so I will keep that at the forefront of my work across the year, making sure I’m keeping on top of communications. As well as sending out weekly emails, responding to emails & messages and updating class registers, I want to make sure that the Instagram continues to be aesthetic (this year’s committee has done such a good job!). This professionalism is something that makes LUU Ballet stand out from the rest.
