Hi everyone, I'm Beth!

I'm in 1st year, studying Biology, and I'm from a small town near Cambridge.

I first started ballet when I was 3, and have not stopped since. Leeds Ballet has been an incredible place to continue learning and dancing, and I'm enjoying it so much!!

As soon as I saw that the show team was an option, I knew I had to join - and it's been one of the best decisions ever!! I got to watch last year's Show Captain, Clara, work tirelessly to create such an incredible show this year, and that has made me want to continue that into next year.

As Show Captain, I would continue all the incredible work this year that went into creating more accessibility for our shows, with feedback from the communities that we are aiming to help.

I'd also like to increase our collaborations with other societies next year - the collaboration with Chinese society this year was incredible and I would like to develop more opportunities like this for our dancers to have more performance opportunities like this next year. Working with modern has also been wonderful and the collaborations with BSL society this year have been amazing and truly shaped where I believe ballet society should grow in the future, increasing our accessibility and working with other societies to create a community of supportive and well-rounded dancers who are all so wonderful! :)

Experience-wise, I have been a key player in the organisation of many large-scale events over the last 4 years - including Macmillan coffee mornings across 1000 people and sports days - involving lots of collaboration and communication with many different groups of people. I have also been a lead choreographer for student-led pantomimes, which allowed me to understand what it is like to be behind the scenes of a show, as well as being involved on the stage!
